All of Okayama Prefecture and the eastern half of Hiroshima Prefecture were once called Kibi. In Okayama City, there is a collection of large burial mounds over 100 m in length, clearly indicating that it was the center of the Kibi region. In recent years, excavations have been conducted at the Kanazoyama Kofun Tumulus and the Zouzan Kofun Tumulus Group in Okayama City, and their aspects have been revealed.

This exhibition traces Kibi's strength through archaeological materials, as it built burial mounds comparable to those of the Yamato kingdom, and furthermore, has a tradition of rebellion against the Great King.
